Haiti Trip, Day 2

March 9, 2010

Josh Bresler:

Josh treats a patient on last year's trip

We had a great first day.  We traveled to a village about an hour away this morning where we saw around 80 patients.  Some needed a few teeth out and some needed full mouth extractions.  We treated at least 5 patients with large abscesses and swellings.  In the afternoon we went to a school for refugee children from Port Au Prince.  We saw around 250 children for screenings – we plan on seeing many of them during the week for extractions and operative treatment.  We have a patient coming tomorrow morning who sustained a jaw fracture during the earthquake – we’ll let you know how that turns out.

Tomorrow, the group will split into two teams and travel to different villages.  Stay tuned!
